The members of the Midwest U.S.-Japan Association express deep condolences with our friends in Japan over the devastating and tragic loss of Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

Shinzo Abe was the longest serving Prime Minister in the history of Japan. As Prime Minister, he strengthened Japan-US relations through national security legislation and the Free and Open Indo-Pacific strategy. He was one of the greatest leaders in our postwar history.

We are all stronger due to Abe’s contributions to peace.
